As 2022 Draws to an End…

CRC Board of Directors

As 2022 draws to a close, I, on behalf of the Champion Recovery Community Board of Directors, would like to report that it’s been a successful blessed year. The year began with a group of servant’s in a room brainstorming a vision of expansion to fulfill a vital need in our community. Collectively we focused on a place where a woman with immense courage uttered the words, “No more!” No more crises, drugs, co-dependent relationships and trauma wrecking her life! We know all to well that she is not alone, there are many that knock on our door asking for help including our law enforcement agencies, shelters and business owners. It is out of this need that the Segullah Sanctuary for Women was born. It will be a place of safety, prayer, learning, caring, job training and skills training. Our vision is,

“For the sake of God’s Kingdom and the strength of our community, our Segullah Sancutary for Women project will provide a safe place for women recovering from addiction, co-dependency and trauma to heal, to restore worth and to give purpose to.”

With a project of this magnitude, we knew that the road getting there wouldn’t be easy. We are considered a small non-profit organization with a small budget, BUT GOD! Two of my favorite words in Scripture, is a God of possibilities. (Ephesians 3:20-21) As our team prayed we were given instructions through prayer by our precious Board Secretary, Pastor Erik McDaniels, that we need to get our house in order. What Pastor Erik was unaware of this time, was that other board members had already been looking at procedures and platforms to help us do just that. Through The Holy Spirit our mission and vision has come into alignment, and doors of opportunity have been swung wide open for us to prepare to extend this ministry to a place where women can be in our program while in the safety of our own facility to live under supervision until they have conquered the battles presented during their recovery journey.

As we wrap up 2022, we are humbly asking you to partner with us on this journey of making women in our community more productive citizens; women who are skilled; women who know the value of picking oneself up; women that Jesus has shown them their worth; and women who are longing to return to a family and a home. Everyone knows that when the year is nearing an end, tax-writes offs are being hunted down to get that last one in before 12/31/22 disappears. If this is you, would you please consider supporting Champion Recovery Community? It’s easy to do:

1. Go to www.championrecoverycommunity.com.

2. Click “donate”.

3. Choose “Year End Giving”.

4. Put in your amount, card number and if you want to honor someone.

5. Click “done”.

6. Your 501 (c)(3) non-profit donation receipt for your taxes will appear in your email inbox.

See it’s that easy! Ministry isn’t free, but our recovery program is. We can keep it free for the women that can’t afford a meal, let alone a recovery program, because our community gives from their hearts. We are excited about 2023 and what God has in store. We invite you to step up and partner with us in prayer, volunteering and monetary and supply support. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to meeting you. Have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Blessings,

Wendy Barrett
