Alyson Riley
CRC Founder & Advocate
Bio
Alyson Riley moved to the area more than twenty years ago and, after years of work in education and social services, founded Champion Recovery Community to serve those in need throughout the Sequatchie Valley. Originally trained in foreign languages, Alyson spent many years working with at-risk students and their families. Though her path may have seemed winding, she believes God was faithfully shaping each step, developing the skills needed to serve others. A turning point came when her friend and mentor, Janice Carter, introduced her to Christian Job Corps. This program became the foundation for Champion Recovery Community, which advocates for individuals dealing with addiction, incarceration, and many other obstacles. Alyson’s heartfelt desire is that Champion Recovery Community will continue to meet these needs for years to come in our area.

Wendy Barrett
CRC President
Hello CRC Supporters and curious ones! I have been blessed to serve with Champion Recovery Community for almost five years. Almost immediately I was elected to serve as the President of the Board. I was honored and accepted out of obedience to The Lord’s calling on my life. It has tested my faith in The Lord, grown me in my organizational and leadership skills and humbled me to my knees in prayer. What an amazing Lord we serve!

P. (Mac) Bumpus tells us why he serves.
I was born and raised in Atwood, TN, a town of about 1,000 at the time. Our school was 1-12 in the same building, and my mother taught chemistry there. I excelled in basketball and also played baseball. My first two years of college were at Freed Hardeman in Henderson, TN.

With over 25 years of experience in a community based nonprofit organization, the Cornell Cooperative Extension Jefferson County in New York, she brings insight that has helped CRC open up doors within our community.
